TOURISM SECTOR CONTINUES TO REJUVENATE AS LOCAL FESTIVALS RETURN

The outbreak of the Covid-19 virus brought local festivals such as the Victoria Falls Carnival to a standstill as festival organizers had to cancel and postpone in order to curb further spread of the virus, but recently the festivals have been kicked back to life, revitalizing the tourism sector.

The Victoria Falls festival which was cancelled last year due to Covid-19 is “Africa’s most exciting and adventurous music festival” and it has returned for its 10th Year. The festival offers a big explosion of fantastic local and international artists and it runs for 3 days. It is also a festival for new and frequent Victoria Falls tourists who visit one of the seven wonders of the world.

“We are so excited to announce our new dates for Vic Falls Carnival: Friday 29 April – Sunday 01 May 2022”, Victoria Falls Carnival organizers said announcing the dates for the return of the festival which will feature Amapiano stars DJ Maphorisa, Kabza De Small and Sha Sha.

Another festival local and international tourist look out for annually, Jacaranda Festival, also returns this year running from the 29th of October to the 7th of November later this year.

The return of these festivals is important to the Tourism Authority of Zimbabwe as it moves towards the national vision of a prosperous upper middle-income economy by 2030.
