17 year old student creates a virtual application for schools and businesses

By Tadiwa Jery

Munashe Machiwenyika a 17 year old student from Maranatha High School developed a virtual
assistant application aimed at improving communication efficiency at professional level.

This application allows the recipient to get an instant notification distinct from any other application
on their smartphones.

As most schools and organisations have adopted the use of smartphones for communication,
identifying a way of minimising distractions whilst using electronic devices became a major concern.

Munashe designed the application for the sole purpose of ensuring that school related messages are
not missed by students or parents when using their smartphones. “With only a few tweaks in the
code, organisations will be able to send business related notifications to their employees also”,
Munashe said .

This invention is a product of the education 5.0 curriculum which encourages students to become
more innovative. It serves as a testament that empowering students with the support they need will
bring positive output.
