By Staff Reporter

A steel project which will operate in Mashonaland East, Mashonaland West  and Midlands is set to create at least four thousand jobs in the country.

Currently, the setting up of preliminary infrastructure and provision of critical services at the Dinson iron and steel company in Chikomba has commenced, with commissioning expected by December next year.

Infrastructure which includes offices and staff quarters as well as installation of telecommunications and electricity is at an advanced stage with Zesa having put up a 7 kilometre temporary power supply line.

The company says it is happy with the support it is getting from relevant authorities in setting up infrastructure.

The mining project whose first phase will be at a cost of one billion Unites States dollars is being implemented following a memorandum of understanding between Tsinghan holdings of China and the government of Zimbabwe.
