MASHONALAND EAST’S SAMBOK DAM COMPLETE

By Staff Reporter

The National Development Strategy One (NDS1), continues to bear fruit with the construction of a USD2 million dam becoming the latest feather in its cap.

The recently completed privately owned dam, located in Marondera, is set to provide irrigation for the farmers in the area, thereby boosting agricultural production.

The dam which has a capacity of 3 million cubic metres, is located along Ruzawi river and is the result of two local companies with a thrust towards commercial farming.

In recent years the Government launched the accelerated irrigation rehabilitation and development programme, meant to create green belts by providing irrigation solutions nationwide.
