PRESIDENT MNANGAGWA IN ETHIOPIA FOR AU SUMMIT

President Emmerson Mnangagwa has arrived in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, where he will attend the 35th African Union Summit.

Some of the matters on the agenda of the meeting, which will be chaired by Senegal are the stability of Ethiopia, the rise of insurgents in Mozambique, COVID-19, and other challenges that Africa is grappling with.

Fifteen new members of the Peace and Security Council of the African Union will be elected during the summit, – five positions for the three-year seats and 10 for the two-year seats.

The theme of the 2022 summit is “Building Resilience in Nutrition on the African Continent: Accelerate the Human Capital, Social and Economic Development.”
