ZINARA AND ITS PARTNERS COMMENDED FOR INCREASE IN REVENUE COLLECTION

The Zimbabwe National Roads Administration (ZINARA) and its partners have been commended for increasing revenue collection.

Parliamentary Portfolio Committee on Transport and Infrastructure Development chairman, Oscar Gorerino said ZINARA, INSTATOLL and ZIMTOLL have also implemented convenient systems that make payment methods accessible to members of the public.

Mr Gorerino said “The tollgates are an infrastructure for government, but the system that we use to collect money is the one run by Instatoll. So, we have seen that it will go a long way to help revenue collection.

“As you are aware, we have Zimtoll, another tolling company that operates tollgates outside the Plumtree- Forbes road. When Zimtoll took over revenue collection from ZINARA back then, we saw a huge change, so ZINARA had to look for partners which could bring in technology”

The improvement in revenue collections comes as the implementation of the Emergency Road Rehabilitation Programme (ERRP) continues to improve the country’s road network.
