By Staff Reporter

Mozambican Minister of Health, Dr Armindo Tiago who was in Zimbabwe recently for a state visit said the pharmaceutical products being produced in Zimbabwe are impressive both in their quality and quantity.

Dr Tiago together with Acting Minister of Health and Child Care, Professor Amon Murwira and Deputy Health and Child Care Minister, Dr John Mangwiro, visited one of  Zimbabwe’s pharmaceutical companies Natpharm.

The aim of the visit was to get an appreciation of the products being made by Zimbabwean companies and universities as well as the new Natpharm building, which is still under construction.

Dr Tiago said “We are impressed by the advance that Zimbabwe has made in the last five years as compared to Mozambique but more than that, I think we need to learn from each other.”

“We want to put a collaboration process where Zimbabwean knowledge and technology can be implemented in Mozambique and those small things that we can offer can also be implemented in Zimbabwe. What we are going to take home as a message is that we are going to speak to the minister of science and technology and higher education and also share the experiences that we saw in Zimbabwe,” he said.
