ZTA ready to host expo

The 14th edition of the Sanganai/Hlanganani World Tourism Expo will be held from the 27th to 29th of October virtually with participants required to register for it.

The event managed by the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority (ZTA) is being held virtually because of COVID-19 with the meetings diary reported to have gone live with bookings in progress, as reported by ZTA via their twitter handle yesterday.

Exhibitors will be able to meet and network with exhibitors, buyers, investors and suppliers from all over the world. They will also be able to establish strategic business partnerships with world tourism players, acquire knowledge on different source markets. They will have real time business networking meetings, as informed by ZTA.

The Authority’s tourism page posted that:

“This year’s edition will see a series of webinars being hosted and will touch on topical issues including the market perspective webinar session where agents from key source markets will share insights on the changing global trends due to the effects of the pandemic.”

This expo is promoting MICE tourism as espoused in the NDS1 agenda as a way to improve the nation’s tourism sector. The pandemic has affected the industry as it relies on travel and contact but ZTA’s innovativeness and creativity to hold the expo virtually has showed how resilient the sector is.

The expo is an annual tourism trade fair organised by the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority. It showcases the widest variety of Africa’s best tourism products, and attracts international visitors and media from across the world. The past editions of Sanganai/ Hlanganani were a resounding success and attracted the leading African destinations and major world tourism markets such as South Africa, Botswana, Malaysia, China, Zambia, Malawi, Kenya, Mozambique, Namibia, Indonesia, India, Italy and many others.
