The Minister of lands, agriculture, fisheries and rural resettlement Dr Anxious Masuka says the Presidential community fisheries scheme which was launched by President Emmerson Mnangagwa last year, will boost the fisheries sector.
Dr Masuka said this as he addressed some beneficiaries of the scheme at Palawani dam in Mapanzure.
He also said the project tallies with the government’s National Development Strategy (NDS) one.
President Emmerson Mnangagwa launched the Presidential Community Fisheries scheme in 2021 which will benefit all the country’s 10 provinces to boost the fisheries sector.
The Government has established a fisheries project at Palawani dam in Mapanzure under the scheme and it is expected to benefit Midlands and Matabeleland South communities financially.
