Brand Zimbabwe Project: Government initiative to re-shape the nation’s brand.

The Brand Zimbabwe Project is an ongoing exercise that aims to bring out a central idea of what and who Zimbabwe is as a nation. Also, it is an identification of the nation which has different facets leading to brand Zimbabwe. The Government of Zimbabwe, with the help of partners, is aiming to rebrand the nation into one that speaks one voice and has clear cut values. Additionally, this idea will mould the perception of the nation at both domestic and international level. It will bring forth the idea of how Zimbabwe is to be viewed as its core identity, character and purpose.

Re-shaping Zimbabwe’s identity using the Brand Zimbabwe Project.

Also, the Government is confident that the Brand Zimbabwe Project will restore the nation’s identity and pride. Zimbabwe has so much to offer to potential investors from various economic sectors. Moreso, this initiative will allow businesspeople on the global market to see the opportunities that Zimbabwe has to offer. Additionally, it will also show how its people will make it a great nation to invest in. Their hospitality and welcoming nature are part of brand Zimbabwe. Brand Zimbabwe will help Zimbabwe’s identity with the region as well. It will help the nation fulfil the African vision.

“In the process of consulting all stakeholders, nobody should be left behind. Political affiliation is not a consideration. We are Zimbabweans. The image of our country represents us and it matters” said Nick Mangwana, Permanent Secretary in the ministry of Information Publicity and Broadcasting Services regarding the Brand Zimbabwe Project.

Furthermore, Zimbabweans are challenged to take an active role in branding the country. The government is now dedicated to rebranding Zimbabwe in an effort to unite the country, eliminate all the negativity and restore confidence among Zimbabweans. Therefore, will elevate the Brand Zimbabwe project. 

Zimbabweans’ involvement of branding Zimbabwe vital

Moreso, while speaking at the launch of the Brand Zimbabwe Project in Harare last year, the Minister of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Senator Monica Mutsvangwa implored Zimbabweans to come on board in the quest to rebrand the country.

“It is high time we restore our national pride. This renewed commitment is a long journey, but it is a worthy one. We invite the country to be supportive in this journey that the government has undertaken,” she said about the Brand Zimbabwe Project.

Additionally, stakeholders commended the Government for its bold stance to rebrand Zimbabwe.

“We would like to commend the government for this stance as we move towards rebranding our country. Through this initiative the tourism sector will flourish,” noted ZTA CEO, Winnie Chakanyuka regarding the Brand Zimbabwe Project.

“It is time to tell our own Zimbabwean story because our image had suffered from misinformation for a long time. Zimbabwe is a peace living country and as business we will support this initiative,” said Mr Denford Mutashu, President Confederation of Zimbabwe Retailers.

Furthermore, the event saw people from all walks of life, including the business community, government officials, parliamentarians, students and religious organisations gracing the launch. This shows that Zimbabweans are eager to brand Zimbabwe. Moreso, it will take the involvement of people from all backgrounds to make Brand Zimbabwe a success.
